Individuals who overstay in respect of the time specified on their South African visas usually receive a ban from South African authorities at the time that they depart from South Africa. It is no longer possible to simply pay a fine. These bans are usually for a period of 5 years and are recorded on the international immigration system. You will not be able to return to South Africa or board a flight to South Africa until your ban has been lifted.
If you have a sound reason, with the evidence to support your claim, we may be able assist you in appealing your ban.
Please note, that your ban will not be automatically lifted once you have served out your ban period, so we would suggest that you get in touch with us, so that we can do a status verification on your behalf, before you attempt to return to South Africa.
